Life support equipment & critical load businesses

Our number one priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our customers and regional communities. We’re here to support our customers with life support equipment and 'critical load' businesses - before, during and after a power outage.

Create an outage checklist

If you have registered the life-support equipment at your premises with us, we’ll contact you before any planned power interruptions. This will give you the opportunity to put your power outage plan in place.

01

Create and share your action plan

Talk to any carers, family and friends about making an action plan to cover what to do if your power goes off without warning.

02

Have an alternative power source nearby

Such as a battery backup system, portable or fixed generator.

03

Know the location of your nearest hospital

Be prepared to leave your home if an extended outage occurs.

04

Keep emergency phone numbers handy

For your doctor, fire department, police and ambulance services and our 24/7 faults line (13 23 51).

05

Always have a phone available

That doesn’t rely on mains power.

06

Have a battery-operated radio and torch

On hand with fresh batteries and set of spare ones closeby.

07

During a storm

Listen to the radio to keep up with the latest weather conditions.

08

Have your essentials stocked

Be sure to have a supply of your essential medication, non-perishable food and water at home.

Always run portable generators outside as they produce deadly carbon monoxide.
