Open, close or transfer an account

There’s a lot to think about when you’re moving house, so we’re here to make sure it’s as easy as possible to get your power connected and your account set up.

Tell us when & where at least 3 - 5 days before

Complete the online form to open a new account or log in to My Account online to transfer your account.

To speak with someone, call us on 1800 267 926, 8 am to 5 pm weekdays - just your account number or a copy of you last bill handy.

What other details will you need?

If you're new to Horizon Power - we'll also need your contact details and driver's license details (if applicable).

If you're closing an account - let us know where you would like the final bill emailed or mailed to.

If you hold a concession card, please have that handy as you may be eligible for concessions and rebates.

How long does it take to switch on or off the power?

In most cases, if you get in touch with us before 3pm, we can usually get you connected the next business day. In some cases, it can take up to 3 business days to get you connected.

If you're closing an account - we’ll email or send your final bill to your new address, after your next scheduled meter read.

Your Horizon Power account will be updated

When your account has been set up, we’ll send an email confirming your new or updated account details.

Use this number to register with My Account and access our online services, including our mobile app.
