Our Bright Horizons learning program is inspiring young scientists to explore and engage in the world of energy.
This year, only schools that have received solar energy systems as part of the Solar Schools program are eligible.
However, even if you’re not yet eligible to receive the complete Bright Horizons Equipment Pack, you may still find our classroom resources helpful. You can download the year 6 and 8 teacher and student handbook on our website.
Once you register your school, your local Horizon Power Customer and Community Manager will be in contact with you to discuss next steps of getting the Bright Horizons classroom resources delivered to your school.
Once you've successfully registered, we'll take care of the rest. Horizon Power will provide everything you need to run the Bright Horizons program - at no cost to you.
Yes. While the program is designed to align with the year 6 and year 8 Western Australian curriculum, other age groups will also have fun learning about solar energy with the Bright Horizons activities.
You can get in touch using the online contact form and we’ll get back to you.
What resources are available?
Eligible schools will receive a Bright Horizons equipment pack, which includes all of the materials you'll need, including the following resources:
- Teacher guides with supporting information and resources to use;
- Beautifully designed student handbooks for each student in your class to complete;
- Pre-built student awards and certificates to motivate students
If your school isn't eligible, you are welcome to download these resources and incorporate them into your STEM lessons.
The teaching and learning materials have been modelled on the STEM Learning Project resources template. The STEM Learning Project resources were produced by a consortium of STAWA, MAWA, ECAWA and Scitech under contract to the Education Department of WA.
